Hiring - Takeoff Specialist for Commercial Landscape

Offer Valid: 09/04/2026 - 09/26/2026
About the Role
Florida Green Keepers is looking for an experienced Landscape Construction Estimator to drive our commercial bidding process from first drawing set to final closeout. Working closely with our Project Managers, you'll coordinate with General Contractors, maintain the bid log, read plans, and prepare accurate quantity takeoffs on large commercial landscape, irrigation, and hardscape projects using Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and AI-assisted takeoff software. If you're detail-oriented, comfortable in construction estimating software, and want a role where your takeoffs give our Project Managers the numbers they need to bid and win with confidence, we want to talk to you.
Responsibilities
Pre-Award
  • Read and interpret construction drawings for large commercial projects, including Landscape, Hardscape, Utilities, Grading, and Site drawings
  • Track incoming bid opportunities and coordinate with General Contractors and their project estimators on upcoming bids, communicating regularly by phone and email throughout the bidding process
  • Submit and review RFIs (Requests for Information) as needed while bidding a project
  • Maintain the bidding log and related to-dos in Microsoft Teams
  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and AI-assisted takeoff software
Post-Award
  • Prepare submittals for awarded projects
  • Assist with project management tasks — requesting supplier quotes, ordering materials as needed, and supporting jobs through completion
  • Curate and maintain updated drawings for awarded projects, including quantity takeoffs for change orders
  • Prepare closeout documentation including as-built drawings using Bluebeam, Adobe, and related software
Qualifications
Required
  • Proven takeoff/estimating experience — landscaping, irrigation, hardscape, or general commercial construction background
  • Strong ability to read and interpret commercial construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and/or AI-assisted estimating/takeoff tools
  • Strong communication skills, including frequent phone calls with suppliers and General Contractors to track down pricing, availability, and bid details, along with clear, professional communication with internal teams
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple active bids and projects at once
  • Valid Florida driver's license
  • Ability to work in-person in Gainesville, FL
Preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams
  • Working knowledge of project management and bidding platforms such as Procore, Autodesk, BuildingConnected, and PlanHub
  • Familiarity with Demand Star and other governmental bidding systems
Benefits
  • Paid time off
  • Paid holidays
  • Supplemental insurance
